hell trembles...

All this time I have heard about how important it is that we obey God, follow Him, do His will, pray to Him, worship Him, etc. I find myself striving to do this daily and I know how happy it makes God to see the good I'm doing with my life; however, I never thought about what that means for Satan. If everytime we sin, we say "no" to God and "yes" to Satan--the opposite must be true as well! When we answer God's call with a strong "yes!" we turn away from Satan and all his evil works and...hell trembles! Hell trembles in fear of us and continues to tremble each time we are able to tell Satan "no." How easy that sounds...that all we have to do is follow God, avoid sin, and hell will tremble and eventually fall. Well obviously we all know it is not easy. In fact, sometimes it is harder to turn from Satan and sin, than to simply follow God. BUT, although it's not easy, it certainly is not impossible. Each time we unite together in prayer, each time we do the right thing, each time we receive the sacraments, etc. this is when hell will tremble. If it helps to "go into" this together, then that's what God wants us to do! Coming together and spreading God's fire will eventually help us all overcome the temptation and cause hell to tremble continuously. God is constantly pouring His graces out to us through prayers and the sacraments. These graces are what we need to overcome it all! Lord, "Your grace is enough!"
