Love. A four leter word that has grown over generations to have numerous different meanings. We love our family. We love our friends. We love pizza. We love our favorite sports team. We love a particular movie. We love a certain song, or our favorite band. We love our significant other. We love God. And the list could go on forever. What do you love? The better question is, what
is love? A good friend of mine is always complimenting me. She tells me how sweet and beautiful I am, and how much she loves me. This is her "language of love." She verbally expresses her love. When I thought about this idea of a "language of love," I realized how true it is! We all express our love in different ways and for different circumstances. For example I don't think any of us would express our love for pizza quite like we would our love for our family or for God. What you love says a lot about a person. And how you express that love says even more. So what do we have to compare our love to? It's simple. It involves a sacrifice, a cross, and the salvation of all souls.

| I asked Jesus how much He loved me and He said "this much." Then he stretched out his arms and died on the cross. |
Jesus expresses the greatest "language of love" possible. His language was not spoken, nor was it a series of good deeds. Still, it was nothing like pizza love. It was one action--dying on the cross. As we celebrate Holy Week, let us remember the true language of love. Let's strive to model our love by His and express it not only to others, but to the one who established this language of love. The one who created us with the ability to love. The one who loved us first!
